🇫🇷 4Padel to open 14 new clubs in France by 2026
French operator 4Padel has confirmed plans to open 14 new clubs across the country by 2026. They include a facility in Dijon with 12 courts due to open next summer. The new sites will increase the number of 4Padel clubs from 25 to 39, and the number of courts from 149 to 275. The operator also unveiled plans to acquire five indoor clubs in Germany, representing a total of 40 additional courts in the country.🇺🇸 RacquetX 2026 to take place in Fort Lauderdale
Next year’s RacquetX will take place at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale on 13-15 March, 2026, marking a move away from Miami. The schedule for the RacquetX City Series has also been confirmed, with one-day events taking place in Philadelphia on 29 June, Los Angeles on 18 August, Atlanta on 7 September, Austin on 12 October and Orlando on 22 January.
🇬🇧 Plan to convert Olympic Park tennis courts to padel sparks anger
A row has broken out over plans for the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park’s Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre to convert its four indoor tennis courts into seven double and two single padel courts. The decision has been denounced by the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA), while users of the centre have launched a petition calling for the LVRPA public authority to “reverse” its decision.🇳🇱 Number of padel courts in Holland rises to 2,828
The number of padel courts in Holland reached 2,828 at the end of 2024, spread over 627 locations, according to a new report released by the KNLTB and EY. The number of commercial centres grew by 23.5%, and associations by 16.5%. There was an average of 350,000 monthly padel players, with an official registration of 311,636 players, up 18% on 2023.🇳🇱 Former Dutch footballers in new video series promoting padel
A new ten-part video series featuring former Dutch footballers Rafael van der Vaart and Ronald de Boer has been launched on Sportnieuws.nl and the platform's social media channels. 'Padelpraat' is designed to make padel more accessible and attractive to a wide audience, and is being run ahead of the Decathlon Premier Padel Rotterdam, taking place from 28 September to 5 October.
