🇬🇧 Anthony Joshua joins Hexagon Cup champions Team AD/vantage as co-owner
British heavyweight boxing star Anthony Joshua has become a new co-owner of the reigning Hexagon Cup champions Team AD/vantage. With his investment, which was undisclosed, Joshua joins tennis legend Andy Murray, tennis coach Daniel VallverdĂş and businessman Arran Yentob as joint owners of the British-owned team.
🇫🇷 PadelShot to open new 12-court site in Paris region
French operator PadelShot has announced the opening of its first club in the Paris region, in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines. Due to open later this year, the facility will have 12 indoor courts, as well as a bar, restaurant, relaxation areas, coworking space and seminar room. PadelShot’s other clubs are in Lyon, Caen, St-Etienne and Metz.🇵🇹 New facility in São João da Madeira to feature eight padel courts
A new padel and tennis club is to be built in the Portuguese city of São João da Madeira, around 30km from Porto. The €1.5 million facility, backed by MSDB Investments, will have eight padel courts, three tennis courts, as well as a pickleball court and space for beach tennis. There will also be a gym, studio, restaurant and children’s playground.🇬🇧 Game4Padel attracts new round of investment from English footballers
English footballers Tammy Abraham, Callum Wilson and Marcus Tavernier have invested in UK courts operator Game4Padel in a funding round that values the firm at £27 million. Former tennis world No1 Andy Murray and his brother Jamie were among the early backers of the company, which launched in 2018.🇸🇪 Padel TV in dispute with Swedish Padel Federation over SPT coverage
The CEO of Swedish platform Padel TV, Johannes Thomhave, has said it will not be broadcasting the Swedish Padel Tour (SPT) in 2025 as he believes the Swedish Padel Federation is asking for an unreasonable amount of money for the rights. Reports indicate the governing body intends to arrange the coverage from SPT itself and may broadcast openly on YouTube.
