Specsavers partners with 15 London padel clubs
A new six-month sponsorship campaign from the UK optician aims to raise awareness of the benefits of wearing contact lenses for sport.
UK optician Specsavers has announced a six-month sponsorship agreement with 15 padel clubs across London as it looks to tap into the rapid expansion of the sport in the capital.
The campaign, involving operators such as Rocket Padel and Powerleague, will aim to raise awareness of the benefits of wearing contact lenses for sport.
Specsavers says that as well as providing a financial boost for the clubs, the link-up will give the optician access to a 200,000-strong padel club member database, branding across 69 different courts, social content opportunities, PR and marketing collaborations, and a padel special offer for Specsavers contact lens subscribers.
All 15 clubs are within three miles of a Specsavers store, and as part of the partnership, Specsavers will offer a free game of padel for up to four people to anyone who signs up to a new contact lens subscription at participating stores.

The participating clubs are: Rocket Padel Beckton (E6), Stratford Padel Club (E15), Powerleague Romford (RM7), Powerleague Shoreditch (E1), The Bexley Padel Club (DA5), S3 Wembley (HA9), S3 Sutton (SM2), Rocks Lane Barnes (SW13), Rocks Lane Chiswick (W4), Padel People Wimbledon (SW17), Purley Sports Club (CR8), Instant Padel (Canada Water, SE16), The 108 Club (NW2), Georgians Padel (N8), and Bromley Sports Club (BR1).
Fleur Rhodes, head of contact lens trading at Specsavers, said: “Padel is continuing to flourish in London right now and a huge number of people are trying it for the first time. There’s a natural link to wearing contact lenses, allowing players to enjoy the sport comfortably and confidently.
“That’s why we’re championing padel in London by backing grassroots clubs across the capital over the next six months. There’s a real commercial opportunity, and the chance to support an exciting sport at a key moment in its development.”
