Pure Padel to open Glasgow’s first indoor padel club

The UK operator is expanding its footprint, with a new venue in central Birmingham also due to be launched in the coming months. The company is now on track to have 33 courts by the end of 2025.

Pure Padel, one of the largest padel club operators in the UK, has confirmed plans to open Glasgow’s first indoor padel club, with the new venue due to open in January 2026.

The facility will have ten indoor courts, including a competition court, making it Pure Padel’s largest to date and the biggest padel venue of any type in Glasgow.

The club will be located in the 40,000 sq ft former Cineworld at The Forge Retail Park in Glasgow's east end.

Pure Padel said the venue will provide “a central and highly accessible location for players across Scotland’s largest city”.

The facility will also have food and beverage spaces, social areas, and fully equipped changing rooms, “creating a premium destination for both recreational players and competitive events”, Pure Padel said.

The operator added that the site will be a flagship venue, providing opportunities for corporate events, competitions and community engagement.

“Highly experienced and qualified LTA coaches will be available for coaching to all levels, from beginners to intermediate and advanced players, ensuring a holistic padel experience for the Glasgow community,” it said.

The club is part of Pure Padel’s ambitious expansion across the UK, which currently includes five operational clubs and ten more planned across Scotland and England.

On 1st October Pure Padel announced it will be opening central Birmingham’s first indoor facility, also in January 2026.

The operator is to repurpose an old Land Rover Jaguar engineering plant into a new padel club featuring five doubles courts and two singles courts, along with a food and beverage space, social areas, and fully equipped changing rooms.

The club will be located on New Summer Street in the Jewellery Quarter, a 10-minute walk from Snow Hill train station.

Pure Padel said the facility will be “an ideal venue for corporate event hire, benefitting from its central location and proximity to Birmingham’s growing business district”.

Since opening its first club in Alderley Park (three outdoor courts) in October 2023, Pure Padel has undergone a significant expansion.

In the two years since, the company has opened its flagship indoor club in Manchester city centre, followed by Darlington (seven indoor courts), Stockport (five indoor courts) and North Leeds (four outdoor courts).

Construction is also at advanced stages for a new venue in Nottingham, due to open in the coming weeks, and in Lightwater, Surrey, scheduled to open in February 2026.

Pure Padel, which has so far welcomed around 13,000 players, said it is now on track to have 33 courts by the end of 2025, and confirmed that planning has also been approved for additional clubs in Solihull, Gosforth and York, with all three locations expected to open by June 2026.

The company said it also has plans to build another 30 padel clubs in the UK over the next five years.

Sammy Arora, founder and managing director of Pure Padel, commented: “With Glasgow and Birmingham announced, we are on track to become the UK’s largest premium operator. We’re excited to grow the sport the right way in the UK in the years ahead.”
