  • 🇵🇹 Ronaldo makes new padel investment with purchase of Lisbon facility

    Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly completed a deal to buy the Lisboa Racket Centre in Alvalade, Lisbon. The site has eight tennis courts, seven padel courts and five squash courts as well as a gym. The Portuguese footballer is already an investor in the new Padel City in Oeiras due to open in 2026, which will have 17 courts.

  • 🇨🇦 Canada’s ‘largest dedicated indoor pickleball and padel club’ opens in Burlington

    Blue Zone Courts, which claims to be Canada’s “largest dedicated indoor pickleball and padel club”, has opened in Burlington, Ontario. The site has eight pickleball courts and two padel courts, as well as a café and viewing deck lounge. It will offer coaching sessions, leagues and tournaments, and social events.

  • 🌏️ Premier Padel brings in new heat protocol and adds extra court at P1 Dubai

    Premier Padel established a new heat protocol at this week’s P1 Dubai following complaints from players about competing outdoors in excessive heat. It allowed players to avoid being on court in the middle of the day, when temperatures reached 35°C. The organisers also swiftly installed an additional $100,000 court to help cope with the new schedule.

  • 🇧🇭 World Padel Academy opens five-court site in Bahrain

    The World Padel Academy (WPA) has opened its first branch in Bahrain. With five indoor courts, including a main court that meets international standards, the facility will be the official home of Bahrain’s national team and offer access to expert coaching. The WPA has five branches across the UAE.

  • 🇳🇱 KNLTB Padel expands sponsorship deal with AA Drink

    KNLTB Padel, the governing body for the sport in the Netherlands, has renewed and expanded its sponsorship deal with AA Drink. The Dutch energy drink brand will remain an official partner of the body for the next three years and will also become the title sponsor of the official KNLTB Spring and Autumn Padel Competitions.

Gothenburg club Time 4 Padel set to close in further blow to industry in Sweden

Sweden’s padel industry faces a setback as one of its largest clubs, Time 4 Padel in Gothenburg, is set to close by the end of the year. Known for its 19 courts, gym, spa, and conference facilities, this closure reflects the ripple effects of overexpansion in a country that was once seen as a global leader in padel growth. Sweden’s rapid padel boom during the pandemic created a vibrant yet oversaturated market, which has now led to a string of closures as supply overtakes demand.
