🇺🇸 Ballers raises $20m from investors including Blitzer and Agassi
New multisport and lifestyle concept Ballers has raised $20 million of venture capital funding from a group of sports investors, including Sharp Alpha, RHC Group and David Blitzer, together with Andre Agassi, pickleball star Connor Garnett, and other athletes from the MLS, NFL and NBA. Ballers venues will include padel, pickleball and squash courts.🌍️ Gamechangers launched by Cupra and FIP to boost young padel talent
Gamechangers, a new global contest to boost young padel talent aged 15-24, has been launched by Cupra and the International Padel Federation (FIP). The competition will visit eight cities in six countries, culminating in a grand final in Barcelona, where the selected participants will receive an exclusive scholarship to help develop their professional padel careers.
🇨🇭 Switzerland to get first padel court on water
The first Swiss padel court on water is set to open on the Obersee lake in the Arosa mountain resort in Grisons, eastern Switzerland on 20 June. The facility, built by Swiss operator Padelta on a specially constructed raft, will be unveiled at an event attended by Swiss sports stars including Martina Hingis, and will be available this summer until 19 October.🌍️ FIP extends global turf partnership with Mondo until 2027
The International Padel Federation (FIP) has extended its partnership with Mondo as official global turf partner until 2027. Under the agreement Mondo will continue to provide high-performance sports flooring for the central courts of the main FIP events. The partnership began in February 2024.🇸🇪 Swedish Padel Federation and Never Alone partner to boost mental health
The Swedish Padel Federation (SPF) has launched a partnership with the organisation Never Alone to highlight mental health in sports. Through education, discussion forums and campaigns, the collaboration, part of the SPF’s Safe Padel initiative, is designed to help prevent mental illness and encourage openness, community and well-being. It will be visible in padel clubs, on social media and in SPF educational material.
