Essential news highlights to keep your padel business game sharp

  • 🇫🇷 Stade Roland Garros to host Premier Padel Paris Major until 2029
    Premier Padel has renewed its agreement with the French Tennis Federation (FFT) to host the Paris Major at Stade Roland Garros until 2029. The new five-year agreement extends a partnership that began with the first Paris Major in 2022. The event attracted a record high of over 64,000 spectators last season. 

  • 🇬🇧 LTA and UK Padel partner to expand County Championships

    The Lawn Tennis Association (LTA), the governing body for tennis and padel in the UK, has announced a strategic partnership with UK Padel to support and expand the UK Padel County Championships. The LTA will sanction the competition as a Grade 3 event from this year, allowing players to earn LTA ranking points.

  • 🇱🇰 Sri Lanka to get its first franchise padel tournament 
    Colombo-based firm Eventistry Sports has announced the launch of the Sri Lanka Padel League (SLPL), the nation’s first franchise-based padel tournament. The event will comprise six teams and will debut on 21-23 June, 2025 at Padel House in Colombo. A star-studded player auction will take place on 16 May at The Vault in the city.

  • 🇫🇷 New 12-court padel club set to be built near Toulouse
    Plans are underway to build a new padel facility in Muret, near Toulouse in southwestern France. The proposal, put forward by local boxing club owner Alain Bonadei, is to build a 3,200 sq m complex featuring ten covered and two outdoor courts. If the project is approved, it could open by the end of 2025.

  • 🇬🇧 Ex-Liverpool footballer Fabio Borini to open padel club in Salford
    Padel16, a new facility owned by the Italian former Liverpool footballer Fabio Borini and local businessman Anthony Bingham, is set to open at Worsley Sports Club in Salford, Greater Manchester on 4 May, 2025. The site will feature four courts, as well as a coffee station and dining experience for club members and visitors.
