SNP plans to reach 500,000 padel players in Spain by 2026
Emilio Ramírez, co-CEO of the National Padel Series (SNP), has said the amateur padel competition is targeting a fivefold increase in the number of players in Spain, from 100,000 to 500,000, and a doubling of the number of participating clubs in the country from 850 to 1,700 within the next two years.
ANTEP calls for change amid ‘spread of unofficial courses and unqualified staff’
The Spanish Association of Padel Technicians (ANTEP) has sent a statement to all padel federations in the country denouncing what it claims is a proliferation of unofficial courses and the hiring of coaching and other technical personnel without legally recognised qualifications. The association, which has 150 members, said it wants to "work together" to resolve such issues.
Padel Social Club to expand across UK with Stärka as sole agent
London-based Padel Social Club is looking to expand across the UK after appointing the leisure real estate advisory business Stärka as sole agent. Padel Social Club launched its first site in Earl’s Court, West London in June. Stärka is now targeting indoor and outdoor spaces between 10,000 and 40,000 sq ft.
Plans for new padel courts in Durban dropped over noise complaints
The expansion of padel in Durban is under threat after the construction of two new courts was suspended following complaints from residents about noise. While most padel courts in South Africa are close to shopping malls or country clubs, in Durban several have been built in residential areas.
Venezuela Pádel Fest breaks record as number of players exceeds 1,500
The third edition of the Venezuela Pádel Fest, held in Caracas last week, attracted more than 1,500 registered players, marking a new record for participation in the event. Across the three editions this year, over 4,500 individuals registered, including professional players from other countries.

🇬🇧 UK to host ‘Europe’s largest indoor pickleball and padel facility’
A major new sports facility is set to open in Farnham, Surrey, promises to become Europe’s largest indoor pickleball and padel venue. The Hub of Pickleball and Padel (THE HOPP), founded by entrepreneurs Sally Grace and Andre Strachan, will feature ten pickleball and four padel courts within a 57,600 sq ft site. The facility is expected to open next year following the granting of planning permission by Waverley Borough Council.
In addition to the courts, THE HOPP will offer luxury social spaces, expert coaching, and full amenities. The £2.5 million project is part of a wider boom in the UK’s padel market, where player numbers are projected to soar by 2026.
