🇺🇸 World number one Arturo Coello makes surprise move to Miami
Men’s padel world number one, Arturo Coello, has announced that he and his team are relocating to Miami for 2025. In a post on Instagram, the Spaniard said: “Miami and [Reserve Padel] will be my future residence and home in 2025. … Together with my team, we have made the decision to move to the United States because we firmly believe in the expansion of the sport.”
🇪🇸 Zona de Padel turnover up 38% to €3.7 million as exports climb
Padel equipment outlet Zona de Padel grew its revenues by around 38% in 2024, according to the company’s CEO Pablo Risueño. Turnover rose from €2.7 million in 2023 to around €3.7 million, with exports across Europe increasing to account for 50% of total sales. The Valencia-based firm plans to open new online stores for Germany and the UK in 2025.
🇬🇧 Padel Social Club welcomes rapper Stormzy as new investor
London-based Padel Social Club (PSC) has announced that British rapper Stormzy has joined the firm as an investor. PSC opened its first site in Earl’s Court last June, featuring five outdoor courts, and is due to open a new six-court indoor club in Wandsworth and five indoor and outdoor courts at The O2 later this year.🇮🇳 University in India opens four new padel courts in partnership with UAE
The UAE ambassador to India, Abdulnasser Alshaali, has officially opened four new padel courts at O.P. Jindal Global University in Sonepat, just outside New Delhi. Each court is named after a leading UAE airline: Air Arabia, Emirates, Etihad and FlyDubai. The courts were developed through a joint UAE-India partnership.🇳🇱 Ajax opens padel court at De Toekomst sports complex
Dutch football club Ajax has opened a new padel court at its De Toekomst sports complex, close to the Johan Cruyff Arena on the outskirts of Amsterdam. The court was officially opened with a padel match featuring former Ajax players Siem de Jong and Aron Winter, and Dutch padel players Tim Wolters and Bo Luttikhuis.
