  • Premier Padel Paris Major attendance up 73%

    The Premier Padel Paris Major held on 28 September to 4 October attracted over 64,000 spectators, a rise of 73% on last year’s tournament. A crowd of over 13,000 flocked to the Court Philippe Chatrier at Stade Roland Garros to witness the final matches, where number one pairs Coello-Tapia and JosemarĂ­a-Sánchez won for the second year in a row.

  • Winners at Roland Garros tournament earn €47,250 each

    The prize money on offer at the Premier Padel Paris Major held at Stade Roland Garros was the highest so far this year and was split equally between the men’s and women’s categories, Spanish newspaper Relevo has reported. Each of the winners took home €47,250, while the runners-up received €23,625. 

  • Messi and AgĂĽero’s company move into padel

    Krü Padel by Taktika, owned by Krü Esports – the esports club created by Argentine football stars Sergio Agüero and Lionel Messi – are to enter a team in the second edition of the Hexagon Cup, which will take place at the Madrid Arena on 29 January to 2 February 2025.

  • Padel on “correct trajectory” to become Olympic sport by 2032, Hong Kong head says

    Adrian Lee, chair of the Hong Kong Padel Association (HKPA), believes padel is on the “correct trajectory” to become an Olympic sport at Brisbane 2032. Hong Kong sent a team of 10 to last month’s inaugural Asia Pacific Padel Cup, to compete against Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines.

  • adidas launches its first ever padel shoe

    In the latest sign of the growing demand for specialised padel footwear and apparel, adidas has launched the CRAZYQUICK Lightstrike, its first ever padel shoe. The German sportswear brand says it combines existing adidas technologies with “specially adapted features” and was developed with grassroots and elite players, including Ale Galan and Marta Ortega.
